By using a Gift Card program called “Scrip,” our school buys gift cards from retailers at a discount. You purchase these gift cards to use yourself or to give as gifts at full face value. Once you get your gift cards, you use them at your local retailers just like cash. Scrip retailers offer between 2% and 20% cash back to our school. Retail companies offer the cards at a discount to gain customers and support the community. The profits from Scrip add up, especially when you have many families participating.
Let’s say your family spends $100 each week on groceries and fuel. That adds up to $5,200 per year. At an average of 5% profit, St. Bernard’s School would receive $260...and that’s just one family. With 25 families in that same scenario, St. Bernard’s School would make $6,500 per year—all on things families would buy anyway. Even better, a rebate of 2% is returned to you on all the purchases you make using Scrip! The rebate is given out annually and can be used for school fees, tuition, music ministry, the church endowment, or any program provided by the church and school.
Interested? Here’s all you have to do. Pick up a Gift Card Program ($crip) Order Form from the school secretary today, fill it out, hand it back with your check and get your gift cards within a few days! If you wish to place the same Scrip order each month, we can even put you on an “auto order” program. Phone orders can be called in to voicemail, and your order will be sent home that day, or the next at the latest. You can also buy Scrip in the back of Church after Mass on most weekends.
