Dear Parent,
This is turning out to be a very event-filled week at St. Bernard’s. The “B” in St. B’s will stand for “blue” as we honor our two favorite teams.
Tuesday, 9/30 Students are invited to wear their Brewer shirts, etc. to help us get fired up for the playoffs.
Thursday, 10/2 Another shade of blue will be in fashion as we show our support for the Watertown High School Goslings during their homecoming week.
All parents, Pre K to 5, are invited to the first Home & School planning meeting of the year this Thursday, October 2nd at 7 pm in the Teacher’s Lounge. There will be refreshments and a “mystery door prize”. We are looking for a parent or young adult who would be willing to do child care at school during Home & School meetings this year. Besides being a service to others, it would be a great way to earn volunteer hours.
As you know, our Make-a-Difference Day activity this year is to support the Bike-a-Thon for Joshua O’Brien. The event takes place this Saturday, October 4th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Watertown High School parking lot. There are many ways for you to participate.
If you would like to help in any way or donate baked goods, call Kelly Beltz at 261-7248 or email her at kbeltz@charter.net.
Joshua’s Journey Wristbands are on sale in the school office. These wristbands are being used to promote the event and to support Joshua in his journey to recovery. The wristbands are $3 each or 2 for $5. The adult size comes in royal blue and the youth size comes in green or light blue. Please consider purchasing a bracelet in support of Joshua. You can make a big difference!
If you are unable to participate and would still like to be a part of this community effort, consider making a pledge donation to an individual who is biking (Mr. Allen is! J). Checks should be made payable to the “Joshua O’Brien Fund”. For every $20 pledged, you will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win cool items, like a Wii system! To bid on a silent auction item or learn more about the event, visit http://xyipher.net/bike-a-thon.
Life is a gift; enjoy the ride!
